Clay2Go

Clay2Go

The Clay Center is proud to offer Clay2Go, a discovery museum on wheels.

This mobile museum travels throughout West Virginia providing engaging, interactive STEAM exhibits for 3rd–8th grade students and their families. Clay2Go brings classroom lessons to life through 36 hands-on activities centered around five basic themes: Math, Forces & Motion, Magnetism, Electricity, and Light & Color.

  • To ensure equal access and opportunities for all students, Clay2Go visits are free for WV Public schools.

Clay2Go is much more than a single-day experience. The mobile exhibit stays at the site for at least one week and can serve many students and grades at a time. The exhibit accommodates approximately 40 students per session and can be presented in up to eight 45-minute sessions per school day. Travel, teacher and volunteer training, and curriculum guides are all included.

  • Activity clusters set up and store easily, with custom designed modular storage systems. The exhibit is battery-powered and easy to charge. Clay Center Outreach Staff ensure the exhibit is set up correctly and provide staff/volunteer training.

“When we returned to the school, the kids talked endlessly about what they had done. I feel that they experienced a sense of accomplishment. They all wanted to be scientists when it was over.”

— 4th Grade Teacher, McDowell County Public Schools

“I enjoyed seeing my students experience the hands-on activities of Clay2Go. We are often unable to take our students to places where they can see math and science come to life.”

— 6th–8th Grade Teacher, Mingo County Public Schools
