SUSAN RUNYAN MAIER SCULPTURE GARDEN

On June 14, 2021, the reimagined Susan Runyan Maier Sculpture Garden, a serene oasis of nature in the bustle of the capital city, was unveiled. The 7,000-square-foot garden, designed by ZMM Architects & Engineers, with alluring natural landscaping, strategic lighting, ample shaded seating, and meandering walkways, invites guests to appreciate the tranquil environment and the artwork showcased there.

The garden features a visually dramatic, tensile tent on the large brick plaza, which includes a performance stage, audio-visual infrastructure, and flexible seating options. These thoughtful enhancements have transformed this once under-used area of the Clay Center into a vibrant, multi-use, multi-seasonal venue that is ideal for outdoor concerts, fundraising galas, workshops, summer camps, weddings, receptions, and community and corporate events.
