Abstract Antigravity Assemblages: Sculpture Workshop with Alison Helm

Create a gravity-defying piece of art at this hands-on workshop with WVU sculpture professor Alison Helm.

You’ll receive a bag of intricately carved wood pieces to paint and assemble with dowels, pegs, screws, and wire. By the end of the day, you’ll have a sculpture that looks like it’s floating in mid-air!

You’ll also have the opportunity to learn about Professor Helm’s personal color theory and study one of her works up close—“Grounded in a Cloud,” a stainless steel art bench recently installed in the Clay Center’s Sculpture Garden.

The workshop is open to everyone 14 and up, no prior art experience necessary.

Tickets cost $10, and spaces are limited, so reserve your spot today.
