Member Preview: Animationland Exhibit
Step into the colorful, creative world of Animationland—a vibrant, hands-on exhibit exploring the art and science behind your favorite animated stories! Be the first to explore this interactive experience during a special Member Preview Night, and join Tracey the pencil dog and her animated friends on a journey through storytelling, sketching, sound design, stop-motion, and more.
In addition to early access to the exhibit, enjoy a variety of animation-inspired activities across the museum from 5:30–7:30 PM:
Inventor’s Lab – Bring drawings to life with flip books or thaumatropes you create yourself.
Animation Costume Fun – Come dressed as your favorite animated character and show off your look!
Art Studio: Claymation Station – Sculpt your own character from clay, just like the pros.
Animation Bingo – Pick up a bingo card and search the museum for classic animation tropes and characters—complete your card for a prize!
Special Screening: Toy Story
At 6:30 PM, head to the Caperton Planetarium and Theater for a showing of Toy Story—the first fully computer-animated feature film—playing until 8:00 PM.
