Social Media Internship

SUMMARY: The Social Media Intern will assist the Clay Center’s marketing team in maintaining an active and engaging social media presence. This objective is done by creating consistent social media content, posting on social media platforms on a regular basis, and engaging with content from community partners through shares, comments, and likes. This position will interact primarily with the marketing team and occasionally with other Clay Center staff.

PAY: $13.50 per hour

WORK SCHEDULE: 8-10 hours per week; to be determined based on availability

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Assist in developing and scheduling engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn)

  • Design eye-catching graphics using existing templates for digital campaigns and stories

  • Support the creation of short-form videos and reels for social media

  • Capture photo and video content from exhibitions, events, and daily museum happenings

  • Monitor social media trends and contribute fresh ideas for audience engagement

  • Help track social media performance metrics and compile analytics reports

  • Help coordinate marketing efforts for upcoming performances, exhibitions, educational programming, and special events

  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism, or a related field

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and current trends

  • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, or Premiere Pro), or similar design tools

  • Excellent written communication and visual storytelling skills

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized

  • Photography and video editing skills are a plus

  • Passion for the arts, science, and community engagement
